However, you have to keep in mind that the north of Tenerife is a little bit colder in the wintertime and it is best to visit it in the summer.
The most popular destination in the north is Puerto de la Cruz. It has black beaches, natural pools, and beautiful views of an active volcano Teide, which is also the highest mountain in Spain. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the capital of the island and is a must-see! However, we would not recommend staying there during your whole holiday. There is no beach in the city, and you need to drive for about 15 minutes to reach the closest one. People who want an authentic holiday also choose Garachico, La Orotava, Icod de Los Vinos, or La Laguna! Even though we recommend visiting them while you are exploring the island you should choose accommodation closer to the beach.
